Food stamps could be accepted at all Indiana Farmers Markets
Indiana House Bill 1535 has passed through both the Senate and the House on its way to the Governor's desk. The bill could make food stamps and TANF acceptable currency at all Indiana farmers markets by 2010. As the bill proposes, "the division of family resources must provide farmer's market administrators or retailers who sell food at a farmers' market with wired or wireless point of sale terminals that are connected to the electronic benefits transfer (EBT) system."
